I've got a question for ya. What internet radio streams are you listening to these days? I'm open to pretty much any style or genre... if it's music and you listen to it on the internet, I'd love to hear about it. And another, related. Know of any good talk/news streams, preferably something that is live? So this isn't all take-take, here's a couple for you, too: NPR Hourly and United Nations Radio

Marmalade is a very special substance... By the way, my host is moving, so service might be a bit spotty over the weekend. Not to ruin your all-weekend-all-flummox.com plans or anything, but that's the way it goes.

So I've been watching the first season of the Transformers, and I'm wondering. Is Montgomery Burns "excellent.." an homage to Megatron? Megatron says it: 1 2 3 4 5 Also, have you ever noticed the complete lack of women in the show? It's just a bunch of guys living and shooting things and driving around together. On the first dvd at least, there wasn't a single female character or voice. Think of the implications this has had on our generation. No wonder we've all become raging homosexuals.

If you've got a half hour or so to kill, take the Dialect Survey. The whole things reminds me of a greatly expanded version of the pop/soda/coke survey that made the rounds a couple years ago(for comparison, see the Dialect Survey's version of the same question). State by state dialect maps are not yet available, but the nationwide patterns for individual phrases and words are. Neat stuff. I've always wondered if Las Vegas has any particular dialect oddities, or if our speech patterns are just an amalgam of the west in general, due to immigration and the transient nature of the populace.

I should also mention that Justine Shaw has released chapter two of Nowhere Girl, one of the finest web comics I've ever come across. I guess the new chapter has been out for while already, but it's news to me, so I figured I'd pass it along to you as well.

Unicorn Jelly, a philosophical science fiction manga strip which tells a metaphoric and purposeful story with a definitive beginning and ending, from the beginning. Apparently Unicorn Jelly is finished, which is good because it allows us to read the whole thing from beginning to end in one or two shifts, and is bad because well, it's finished. [mentioned by TheophileEscargot enough times that I finally broke down and read the damn thing]

Artist: R–yksopp Watch: More excellent worktime music(I need a term for that... music that makes for good listening while sitting in front of the computer). Watch the videos. All three can be found on the bonus disc included with the album, along with a couple additional remixes of Poor Leno and Remind Me.
