Oh, hi there. How bout that snow?

Came across LV Casino Chips, a poker chip collector's page. Fans of local history will especially enjoy the extensive museum.

Shot in the dark, but anyone of ya own or live in a house downtown?

Personally, I'm rooting for revitalization, and am considering buying a house in the area within the next year. Would love to hear about the experiences of anyone who has already done so. Google has failed me on this issue.

Yet again, Las Vegas history finds itself underneath a bulldozer.

If it isn't shaped like a Risk piece, bring it down!

Any takers on which will be the next property to face the wrecking ball? As far as Strip motels go, it's anyone's call, I'm sure they'll all be down within a few years. Casino/hotels? My money is on the Boardwalk.

Wonderful Days.

Wow. Judging from the trailer, this Korean animated film looks (and sounds) beautiful. While reviews have been mixed, I'm looking forward to seeing it. Let's hope the movie doesn't turn out to be just another technology demo, à la Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within.

Browsing through aintitcool's generally bland holiday gift guide, one thing caught my eye(ok, there was another thing too). Take a look at these modernized Predicta televisions. No prices mentioned anywhere on the half-finished site, but apparently the boxes sell for a grand or two.

Also, Tokyo Flash sells watches. [via andre]

Following in the paths of Cafe Rainbow, Enigma, and Cafe Copioh, the last of the local independent hangout-and-kill-time coffee houses(at least that I'm aware of) has shut its doors.

On the bright side, Roma is expected to reopen next year under new ownership, although the cafe did already go through a similar process earlier this year. As a side note, that's also what happened with Copioh before it was set aflame and closed for good.

Wishing ya luck, baristas.
