Peter Haasz had nicotine dreams, too. Since I quit, the disturbing dreams are pretty much the only thing I miss about the patch. Well, that and the nicotine. Hmm. Is there a non-smoker in the audience that'd be up for an experiment?

Did you know that Thomas Jefferson introduced the eggplant to the United States? Or that Ben Franklin invented the armonica?

Riding through the Chernobyl dead zone. A photograhic account of a town that one can ride through with no stoplights, no police and no danger of hitting any living thing. A fascinating and somber story, set aside some time for this one.

Setting up the new office workstation(G5 and 23in cinema, no complaints here) and did a bit of desktop and icon hunting to pretty things up. Came across a couple great sites for that sort of thing so I figured I'd pass along my find to you, because hey, we're all friends around here. SoftshapeArt, desktops and other stuff via Siberia. Also, PixelGirlPresents.

Regurgitated from an excellent K5 article, and just in time for the Rice testimony: the Top Ten Conspiracy Theories of 2002.

Fashioning Verisimilitude? With the move beyond science fiction, a genre not especially known for excellence, into the more mainstream and lucrative field of paranormal reality tv, a genre even less known for its excellence, quality programming is one of the last things I'd expect to see from SciFi, but if Ron Moore can hold out to his ideals, it's quite possible that the upcoming Battlestar Galactica series might not suck. If five pages of interview linked above is just too much to handle right now, you can read the Cinescape synopsis instead. While pretty much everyone who follows the show has been aware of the production itself for some time, yesterday's new news was SciFi letting it be known that they'd be the ones to air the upcoming Henson/Hallmark produced Farscape miniseries, an announcement that has had mixed reactions from fans. Yeah, I dislike Skiffy as much as the next Farscape fan, but honestly I'm just looking forward to having the show back, even if only for a few nights. And I'm especially looking forward to the Bonnie Hammer spot before it airs where she admits that they were asses for cancelling it in the first place. |
