A massive collection of video game commercials. It's worth it for the Segata Sanshiro ads alone. [via joystiq]

As if this was ever in doubt?

Comedy Central also touted a recent study by the University of Pennsylvania’s National Annenberg Election Survey, which said young viewers of “The Daily Show” were more likely to answer questions about politics correctly than those who don’t.

Comedy Central had no statistics on how many people watch “The Daily Show” stoned.

Virtual Hockey Season to Air on G4techTV

The picture in the press release is from ESPN NHL 2k5. While it is arguably the best of the current crop of hockey games, I really hope they remember to back up their saved profile and franchise files.

Lemme know if any of ya run across something with a bit more depth than the press release.

Unfortunately, the Classic Gaming Expo will no longer take place in Las Vegas. Held near San Francisco, the 2004 show appears to have been a success and the convention will remain in the Bay Area for 2005.

I wouldn't mind making the trip next year, however, there's a dilemma. If we're going to head out of town in August for a weekend gaming bender, what about California Extreme? Or hell, PAX?

FYI for locals: 2004 Ballot Questions [thanks justin]

State Question No. 7 may be of particular interest. I suppose if idiots can run for office, might as well let em vote, eh?

A week ago, if you were to google fasmatasmic, you would have been presented with only two results.

There are now seven, and not a single one of them references Lance Burton. What the hell is the etymology of this word?

While it's been tried before, as far as I know a fuctional online games database still doesn't exist. Ya know, something like the IMDB, but for pc & console games. A graphics-light reference resource for finding out information such as release dates, developer details, ratings, trivia, and so on.

The closest I can come up with is gamefaqs.com, but their focus is less on the game itself and more on the gameplay. Still, I'm sure there'd be crossover.

I know I'd use the hell out it. Is it something the web is missing, or is there just not enough demand to justify the work involved in putting together a site like that?

Any credibility the Libertarian party may have managed to build up over the last few years has just been completely shot down. What the hell were they thinking?
