09.30.02: This and that

If you put gel in your hair in the morning, and then decide to shave your head soon after, do not expect to be able to simply brush away the shaved hair from your body with a towel, as you normally would. If (foolishly believing the hair to be gone) you put on a shirt, immediately remove the shirt from your body and place it in a hamper, as it will be an itchy shirt until next washing.

Laura Holder made me buy a Swiffer. I think my roommate's cats barfed barbacue sauce(?) in the spare bedroom. It will be swiffed. [update: it was, my god it was]

There are many free-roaming cats in this neighborhood. Many, many cats. They sneak over at night while we are sleeping, lounge around the backyard and steal pomegranates from the tree.

I've recently found myself with more free time than I really need to be having.

I do wish the front edge of the diaper pad thingy had a more scrubby surface though. It seems to be little use on things that are seriously stuck to the floor and gooey, which, in my kitchen, is everything. And that the velcro diaper-pad fasteners were grippier. After a certain amount of attempted scrubbing it tends to detach from its long skinny pole. And while we're at it, when I Swiff my bathroom, I always end up with a little pile of damp cat hair and unidentifiable dreck that I have to manually wipe up anyway because the diaper doesn't manage to cling to it all.

In short, if there were a serious industrial version of the Swiffer WetJet, I think that's what I would need.

Yeah, agreed. While the corrosive acid or whatever it is that gets spit out tthe front seems to do a decent job of breaking things down, the swiffer itself doesn't want grab onto the broken down bits, instead preferring to just smear em around. Haven't had to test the clinging ability of the velco, as I have yet to encounter a job that required some real scrubbing. We'll see.

Overall, I like the thing, tho. Hell, it's a mop with batteries. That alone makes it cool.
