10.26.02: rain
I love the rain, the sound as it hits the ground outside, interrupted by the occasional flash and boom of thunder. The smell in the air before and after. Maybe because it's a rare thing here, the rain. Maybe because it involves so many senses.
Back in the old days, the Charleston underpass would have flooded on a night like this, and we would be seeing videos of the drowned cars tomorrow.

I was just telling someone two days ago about how I haven't experienced a big Vegas thunderstorm this year, and here I find out that I missed one last night, a Friday night, a night in which I could have stayed up and enjoyed it. Alas, I was oblivious as I fell asleep around 1am, succumbing to that $7 4L bottle of wine I purchased at Wal-Mart.
