Theories:

Zion is actually a sub-matrix, another tier of defense. Neo is the first to "wake up" in Zion. Virus Smith has infiltrated it. Who knows what actual reality is? For all we know, mankind could have willingly put themselves into the matrix.. perhaps disease, overcrowding of the earth, whatever. Saving ourselves from ourselves. Guess we'll see(if I'm right) once the final layer is peeled back later this year.

Neo is an expected anomaly, etc. The unplanned piece is Agent Smith. I think he's the virus that will lead the eventual collapse of the matrix. Effectively, he's "The One."

Actually, concerning the fight scenes in general... Everyone seemed to use the same fighting style. I dunno, didn't get me as much as they did in the first film. Maybe they all have the same kung-fu program these days?

Highway scene was great, especially the backwards through traffic bike scene.

I loved the movie. i thought it was every bit as good as the first.

The sub-matrix sounds interresting, but it does not explain where the prophecy came from, who the architect is and who the keymaker is. And if Smith is "The One", Neo made him that way, so Neo is the one that created "The One". Thats got to count for something :)

The courtyard scene? I thought it was hilarious. I thought it was very well done. And as far as fighting style? What kind of fighting style is appropriate for that clusterfuck??? It seemed to me that every agent was trying to hurt Neo by punching, kicking, grappling him, or doing whatever they could do to get at him. I liked it.

The Matrix movies are roller coasters. Lots of hills, and some other stuff (loop-de-loops, etc). Some people like the other stuff and enjoy it as part of the ride. And others criticize it and want the ride to be very linear and traditional.

no...I doubt Zion is a sub-matrix...If it was then why would squiddies drill all the way down there....why no just create a program like the agents that could appear in the bodies down there.

The machines know that they can destroy Zion, so they are in no hurry. But maintaining control over humans is crucial, so they have to obey certain rules. If the machines suddenly appeared within Zion, then they would be giving away the fact that the humans are still in the matrix. Instead, by holding themselves to certain 'real world' laws, the machines can maintain the illusion of reality over the humnas.

my theory

everthing the oricle said is true, even the bit in the first film about neo not being the one, he got the talent(watch the film)but he doesnt got wat it takes, i think neo and trinity will have a son or daughter and it will be born inside the matrix and he/she will be the one, and neo will be the god of the matrix while his son grows up.
