Unfortunately, no. Thanks to the Simple in SMTP, you can send out email saying you're whoever you want to be. I just got a hate mail from somebody in the UK asking why I sent him a virus. Luckily he understood eventually that it wasn't really me, but still annoying nonetheless. You could try and use the headers to track down where it's actually coming from, but chances are it's a hacked machine anyway.

Kill the catch-all on your domain! After you've done that and changed all your current email addresses, obfuscate them on your website to prevent the harvest bots from picking them up. Try this:

Hmm...While SpamSieve catches a good percentage of the junk coming in, it's still annoying to download a hundred spams for every good email.

One of my primary uses of the catch-all is the ability to use targeted addresses for various signups, etc... websitename@flummox, that sort of thing. If I dump it I'm gonna lose email from pretty much every site I've ever signed up for.

Guess I could go through all the account emails I've got saved and change my contact address... would have to move to a different kind of system for forms...what do you use as your address for website signups? Your regular email? Dummy account?

I use yahoo for websites. I don't care if I get an assload of spam there.
