05.18.04: Vegas Gas
Dan from rotarynews.com posted an interesting factoid to the local rotary owners mailing list today:
All of the gas in the valley comes from the same refineries in LA. No matter what gas station you go to, it is the same gas. The only difference in gas station to gas station is the additives they add to the gas (Example: Techron is added to the gas by Cheveron, but the base gas is the same that goes into the AM/PM tank)
Nice to know. With the above info and vegasgasprices.com, we'll all be able to save, hell, at least fifteen to twenty-five cents a fillup, unless of course the gas station with the lower price is outside of your normal driving route, in which case you might spend more on gas getting there than you'd save. Still, it's the principle of the whole thing, right?

Yeah, I find it rather funny when people make a big effort to find a gas station that's, say, 2 cents/gallon cheaper, so that they can save that whopping 30 cents when they fill up their 15-gallon tank.
Speaking of gas price websites, I remember trying to help out my zipcode at gaspricematch.com, but that got old quick because I just don't really notice different prices anymore; I just go to the same one everytime (the local Chevron).
